How to Contract an Interior Landscaper

If you have ever been in an office building, shopping mall or restaurant and admired an extraordinary placement of plants, it may well have been the work of an interior landscaper. Although landscapers are typically thought of as outdoor designers, interior landscapers bring the green indoors in a stylish way, creating an inviting atmosphere. As you prepare to contract with an interior landscaper, take time to do your homework. Decide the specific area you would like landscaped, the maximum budget you can allot and if ongoing maintenance will be included. Solicit bids, interview prospects, check references and draft a contract detailing all the elements of the job.

Instructions

Solicit bids. Advertise a request for proposals to provide interior landscaping services if you are seeking the contractor for a business or government agency. Contact interior landscape services and request bids if the job is personal. Be specific about your needs for the job so you are able to accurately compare the bids.

Interview potential interior landscapers. Request references and photos from previous jobs. Follow up with phone calls to previous clients for recommendations. Verify insurance and licensing, if required by your city or state.
