Landscaping for a Small Front Yard With a Porch

Decorate the front porch minimally, ensuring that you include a space for seating along with a few decorative elements. For instance, install a swing or place a settee in this area for days you wish to relax and enjoy the landscape design.

Hang container plants from the roof edge of your porch or from the railing around your porch, if one exists.

Measure 2 or 3 feet from the porch and plant colorful flowers in this section to border the front of the home. This complements the front of your house and allows enough room so the rest of your yard can be seen.

Plant a large tree on the opposite side of the house to your garage, if the garage protrudes. The tree should be close to the home, yet planted the same distance from the home as the garage to create an element of symmetry.
