Effects of Rust-Oleum on Stone

Rust-Oleum is a well-known paint for doing household repair work. Rust-Oleum comes in a variety of colors in spray cans and other containers, including a specialized paint called Rust-Oleum American Accents Stone Spray. There is also the 3-Step Process Rust-Oleum Stone Effects painting process. Both finishes create the texture and look of stone. Whether wanting a stone finish via Rust-Oleum Stone Effects or painting Rust-Oleum on stone, an overcoat of adhesive formula provides a decorative and protective finish.
  1. Stoneffects Stone Finish

    • Stoneffects is a particular Rust-Oleum water-based coating system that creates an attractive decorative stone finish on surfaces other than stone. Robust and impact resistant, it withstands the rigors of harsh weather and daily wear and tear. Stoneffects has the added benefit of establishing a nonslip surface both flexible and highly resistant to abrasion and impact. Stoneffects is available in a 2-step, roll-on version and 3-step, trowel-on version.

    Stoneffects Effects

    • The most exacting step in the Stoneffects process is the third step. Counter tops in any interior room can be coated, and the product comes with an instructional video that is wise to follow. The stone epoxy trowels out thin, is self leveling and requires two coats to cover a counter top. Be sure to let the epoxy dry for as long as possible. The instructional video states the product can be sanded, but try to avoid sanding altogether.

    • Rust-Oleum Stoneffects applied

Rust-Oleum has been producing specialty paint products since its beginning in 1921. More recently, they've branched out into textures. These new texture kits create stone effects in kitchens, on counters and outside on cement and patios surfaces. Rust-Oleum Stoneffects changes the barriers to cost and skill required to do surface renovations, like in a kitchen where cabinets need paint and countertops need replacing.

    Rust-Oleum Stone Spray

    • Rust-Oleum Stone Spray applies textured spray paint to unglazed ceramic and stone surfaces, metal, plaster and wood. This is a single application spray can process that easily produces a look and texture of stone on many surfaces. Four colors of stone finishes are available in spray cans.
