How to Landscape a 1920's Lynchburg Virginia Bungalow

Select a variety of perennial bushes and flowers that grow well in Virginia. Coneflowers, dahlias, gladiolas, irises, cosmos, moss pink, hostas and ornamental grasses will all grow well in the climate. Plant the bushes and flowers in beds near your home and lining any walkways to your home.

Plant a lawn in any wide-open spaces, or opt for a larger perennial garden. Choose a number of flowering bushes, like azaleas, hydrangea and honeysuckle. Select evergreen bushes, like holly, gardenia and magnolia. Create walkways that meander through the shrubs and flowers in your yard.

Choose flowering trees for your Lynchburg home. Dogwood, flowering cherry, pear and crabapple trees all put on a show in the spring. Plant these in an open area, such as a lawn.
