Instructions

    • 1

Rent a curb-making machine. Choose the curb stamp design that you want.

    • 2

Decide where you want to put your stamped curbing. Mark the area with two stakes and a string for a straight curb or lay a garden hose down in the desired curving line for a curved curb.

    • 3

Use a shovel to dig a trench. The trench should be 2 inches deep and the width will depend on the width of the curb-making machine you are using.

    • 4

Mix your cement according to the product instructions, usually 1 part cement to 3.5 parts cement mix. You can also use premixed cement mix.

    • 5

Line the curb-making machine up with the trench. Pour the concrete mixture into the machine and turn the machine on.

    • 6

Engage the handle to extrude the concrete into the trench. Pull the machine along the trench slowly as the concrete comes out.

    • 7

Use a trowel edge to make a slice from the top of your concrete curb to the mid point. Make this mark every 3 feet. This will help give the concrete some give during temperature changes.

    • 8

Finish making the curb to the end of your trench. Use your curb stamp to press a pattern into the concrete while it is still wet. Carefully push the stamp into the concrete and release to make the pattern. Move your way along the whole stretch of curb.

    • 9

Allow the concrete to cure thoroughly for 30 days before filling the trench with grass and dirt.
