These are the most common scalloped edgers, and are widely available for purchase at hardware stores. Available in white, gray and red and in straight and curved sections, they are easy to install, requiring minimal time to create a striking edged walkway.
Also made of poured concrete, they are the same as concrete scallops, but with the added appeal of having any of a number of images stamped on them. From flower baskets to basket weaves, they add even more pizzazz to your walkway.
Bricks are easily transformed into a scalloped edger by burying them along your walkway border on their ends at an angle. When used in this manner, a brick becomes a beautiful broken scalloped edger. Place them close together for a solid border, or space them for a more fence-like appearance. Adjust the height by changing the depth that you embed them and the angle at which you place them.
For the financially challenged individual, laurel, cherry or willow tree twigs with a natural bent make a rustic scalloped edger fitting of a cottage garden. Stick the twigs into the ground along your walkway, each twig bending over the next. Choose twigs that are roughly the same size and with similar bends.
