Instructions

    • 1

Lay stepping stones on the ground to form the path. Leave the stepping stones in location for one to two days to allow the grass under the stone to wither, leaving imprints of the stepping stones on the ground.

    • 2

Remove the stones by picking them up and moving them aside to reveal the imprint of the stepping stones on the ground.

    • 3

Dig out the imprints with a shovel so they are two inches deeper than the thickness of the stepping stones.

    • 4

Spread a two inch layer of compactable gravel into the imprints. Tamp the gravel with a hand tamper so it is level.

    • 5

Set the stepping stones over top of the gravel. Adjust the amount of gravel by adding or removing gravel from under the stones until the stones set level with the ground.
