How Do I Figure the Number of Pavers for an Unilock Sidewalk?

Installing Unilock pavers can greatly enhance the appearance of your outdoor landscape. Doing the job yourself also saves a considerable amount of money. Install the pavers correctly to give the sidewalk a professional look.
  1. Design

    • Sketch the design of your sidewalk on sheet of paper taking note of elevation, length, width, curves and other features. The better the detail ,the easier it will be to install the Unilock pavers and make the sidewalk look even.

    Layout

    • Prepare the ground and layout by marking where the sidewalk will go. Use wooden stakes or long nails and string to mark the outer edge. Ensure the measurements are precise.

    Area

    • Determine the square footage of the sidewalk. It might be easiest to divide the sidewalk into sections to find the area and determine the sum of the individual areas.

    Quantity

    • Determine the area of your Unilock pavers and divide that number into the square footage of your sidewalk. This gives you a rough estimate of how many pavers you need. To stay on the safe side, increase the number of pavers by up to 10 percent to account for breakage or cuts.
