Clean the concrete with soap and water, degreaser or other cleaning fluids, scrubbing it with a brush to remove any dirt or debris that might have accumulated on its surface. Without proper cleaning, dirt and residue will be trapped under the sealant and may cause the sealant to flake or peel over time.
Mix the concrete sealant according to package directions if mixing or dilution is needed. Use a paint roller to apply a thin layer of sealant to the concrete, making sure that you cover the entire surface evenly. Using a roller for the first coat ensures that the sealant properly penetrates the surface of the stained concrete. Allow this first layer of sealant to dry.
Pour sealant into a pump sprayer. Adjust the nozzle on the sprayer so that it will spray the sealant in a wide fan instead of a tight stream, then pump the sprayer handle to build pressure.
Squeeze the handle or trigger on the nozzle wand to begin spraying a second layer of sealant. Move the nozzle at a slow but even pace, applying a thin layer of sealant. Do not spray any area for long enough for sealant to form puddles; your goal is to produce an even layer across the concrete.
Allow the second layer enough time to dry, then apply a third layer of sealant with the sprayer. If the concrete is located in an area that receives full sun or will have a lot of foot traffic, apply a fourth layer as well once the third layer has dried.
