How to Clear Gravel

Rake up the gravel using a strong rake. Before clearing the gravel, rake up large areas into a pile.

Shovel gravel into a wheel barrow. Fill up the wheel barrow and transport gravel to another area of your yard. If you have nowhere else to put your gravel, fill up the bed of a pickup truck. You can transport the gravel to your area dump or another designated site in your city. You can also post a message on a local forum or in the classified section of your local newspaper to see if anyone would want to purchase or take the gravel for free.

Continue to rake the remaining gravel into piles. Try to use a shovel to pick up as much as possible.

Vacuum any remaining gravel with a yard or wet/dry vacuum. Once you have raked as much gravel as you can, you can use a small shop vac to remove the remaining pieces. Remember to empty your shop vacuum often to prevent clogging.

Use a power broom to remove gravel. A power broom can also be used to remove debris such as gravel or snow. You can rent a power broom from a local home and garden store.
