How to Make Your Walkway Beautiful

Place flower beds along the walkway. The beds act as a physical and visual boundary between the walkway and the lawn while softening the edges of the walkway.

Plant a variety of plants in the beds. Planting shrubs can provide a natural wall to frame the walkway, while flowers can provide bright, beautiful splashes of color around the walkway. If you plant a variety of annuals and perennials, you'll have at least some of the beds covered in flowers year-round with the perennials, and you can plant different annuals every year. Install lighting along the edges of the walkway. The lighting can act like runway lights, framing the walkway and outlining it at night. You can use lights that are wired into your home's electrical system or use solar-powered lights and help reduce your energy costs.

Rebuild the walkway with materials like bricks or paver stones, which are more decorative than plain concrete.
