Place two 2-by-2-by-32-inch boards flat on a work surface parallel to each other. Orient the boards horizontally. Space them 32 inches apart from the inside edges. Lay the remaining two 2-by-2-by-32-inch boards between these boards and orient them vertically to form a rectangle. The ends of the horizontal boards should be flush with the outside edges of the vertical boards.
Position the 2-by-2-by-28-inch board across the center of the length of the vertical boards. This board should be oriented horizontally so that it is parallel to the top and bottom boards.
Drive two evenly spaced stainless steel wood screws through the adjoining boards from the outside sides into the ends at each joint in the assembly using a screw gun.
Lay the eight full 1-by-4-by-36-inch boards across the assembly side-by-side. Orient the boards vertically so that they fit perfectly over the frame.
Hammer three evenly-spaced stainless steel finish nails through the 1-by-4-inch boards into the top, bottom and middle 2-by-2-inch frame boards to secure them in place.
Align the two hinges on one side of the gate assembly so that they are 3 inches in from the ends of the 2-by-2-inch vertical frame board. Drive the included screws through the mounting holes in the hinges into the 2-by-2-inch vertical frame board with a screw gun.
Hold the gate assembly in place with the hinge against the gate post. Drive the included screws through the mounting holes into the gate post with a screw gun.
Align the latch assembly on the top corner edge, opposite the hinge side of the gate door. Drive the included screws through the mounting holes in both parts of the latch with a screw gun while holding the latch in place.
