Place stakes along the projected path of your walkway. Stretch string between the stakes. Mark the path with marking paint.
Measure your paver. Mark the grass to the same dimensions at the location of the first paver. Dig out the sod and dirt below to a depth of 3 inches. Place the grass and dirt in a wheelbarrow as you proceed.
Lay sand in the excavated area, filling it to within an inch of the grass level. Place your paver on the sand. Place a level on the paver and level it. Tap the paver lightly with a rubber mallet to set it properly.
Measure the distance to the next paver location, and repeat the cutting and placement steps.
