How to Make Decorative Arches

Decorative arches can be used to add flair to your home, for special occasions such as weddings or parties, and to create a walkway in your yard. A number of items can be used to decorate your arches, including fabric, paint, flowers, ivy and string lights. You can purchase arches and materials at most craft stores without paying a lot of money.

Instructions

  Place the arch in the location of your choice and paint it with your paint brush and paint. Let the paint dry for about three to five hours before doing any more decorating.

  Wrap fabric around your arch in a swirl design from the front to the back. Create a U-shape at the front of the arch with your fabric to add more decorative appeal.

  Wrap wire around Ivy, artificial or dried flowers. Attach it to the top of your arch or all around it. Place a pot of flowers or ivy at the left and right bottom side of the arch.

  Spray glitter on the flowers and fabric. Add branches to the top of the arch and attach it with wire to create a fuller look.

  Wrap string lights around the arch from the bottom to the top for a lighted effect in the evenings.
