How to Graft Passion Fruit

Passion fruit is a shallow-rooted perennial vine. The passion fruit vine boasts stems, tendrils and leaves that are tinged with red or purple. A single flower comes from each node during blossoming, offering a pleasant fragrance. The passion fruit is a native of Brazil and was brought to the United States in the 1920s. With several varieties, the passion fruit is usually grown from seed, but grafting for perpetuating hybrids can be successful. Whip grafting is most effective.
