Choose a location indoors by a window that receives 5 hours of light each day, but keep out of direct sunlight.
Place the tray on a heat mat set at 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Check the soil for moisture every day and water gently. Soil should remain constantly moist, but not soggy. Continue to grow in the seed tray or cell packs until the plants reach 3 inches in height.

Remove the Dicliptera Americana plants by carefully grasping them by their stem, close to the soil, and using the end of an old pen to pry them out.
Form a hole in the center of the soil in the 4-inch pots that is big enough to insert the roots.
Transplant the Dicliptera Americana plants into the hole and push the soil in around the roots. Firm the soil with your fingers to hold the plant upright.
Water the soil to keep it evenly moist, but not soggy.
Place the pots in the same location where the seeds were started, minus the heat mats.
Harden the Dicliptera Americana plants outdoors when the temperatures are 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Place them in a protected area, out of direct sunlight, and leave them outdoors for one hour on the first day. Increase the outdoor time by one hour each day over the span of two weeks.
Transplant the Dicliptera Americana plants outdoors in a sunny location in a permanent location.
