Instructions

    • 1

Choose a location in your outdoor space for the patio. Lay out a rope along the perimeter of the patio space. Adjust the rope until you are satisfied with the overall outline of the patio.

    • 2

Dig out the soil inside the rope patio outline to a depth of 8 inches using a shovel. Fill the dug out space with a layer of gravel to a depth that the gravel combined with the height of the pavers will allow the top surface of the paver to be level with the ground.

    • 3

Pack down the gravel so that it is an even base for the granite pavers with a tamper. Tamp the gravel in an even up and down motion until you have gone over the entire surface.

    • 4

Lay down the granite pavers with the bottom sides flat against the gravel base. Place the pavers in end to end in rows starting at one side of the gravel and working your way to the opposite side.

    • 5

Tap each paver with a rubber mallet to set it firmly into place on the gravel. Put a mound of sand on top of the granite paver surface. Sweep the sand into the joints between the pavers with a shop broom to complete the patio.
