How to Attract Yellow Finches

Yellow finches' bright coloring and cheerful call make them welcome in backyards across the U.S. They naturally congregate in weedy fields and along floodplains where thistles grow. These attractive birds, also known as goldfinches, gather around bird feeders, particularly in winter when food is harder to find in natural habitats. You can attract them to your back yard by providing their preferred types of food and they'll reward you with bright flashes of yellow and a pleasant song.
