How to Clean Concrete Paver Bricks

Concrete paver bricks come in a variety of colors and textures that mimic the look of real stone. Most companies manufacture concrete paver bricks with beveled edges to reduce tripping hazards and a course surface that reduces the likelihood of trips and falls. Concrete paver bricks require regular cleanings to remove leaves, dirt, moss and oils, which can leave permanent stains on the brick faces. Keeping the concrete paver bricks clean will keep them looking their best and also prolong their life.

Instructions

    • 1

Hose down the concrete paver bricks with a garden hose. Wet the pavers thoroughly, loosening any debris or dirt on the surface.

    • 2

Sweep the concrete paver bricks with a stiff broom to remove any dirt, leaves or debris that may be on the surface. During this time, it is also a good idea to pull out any weeds growing in the crevices.

    • 3

Cut back any foliage or landscape plants that are growing around the concrete paver bricks. Cutting back the plants will reduce any damage that the cleaning chemicals may cause.

    • 4

Apply a cleaner that specifies that it is meant to be used on concrete paver bricks. Apply the cleaner as recommended on the package labeling. Most cleaners will require application with a brush, broom or roller.

    • 5

Scrub the pavers with a sturdy scrub brush once the cleaner has sat on the surface for the recommended amount of time. Use a power washer on areas that contain stubborn stains that are difficult to remove.

    • 6

Remove the cleaner by rinsing the concrete brick pavers down with a garden hose. Allow the concrete brick pavers to air dry for 48 hours after rinsing. Apply a sealer to protect the pavers, according to manufacturer's instructions.
