Patio Brick Ideas for a Patio Door Slider

Patio brick, which will last several years, is a durable and elegant material. This is especially true when the patio leads to a sliding patio door. Because of the width of the patio door, paver bricks can be used creatively to bring a landscape to scale by incorporating the door into the design.
  1. Handicapped Accessibility Ramps

    • For elderly or handicapped persons' needs, brick pavers can be configured to make great ramps. These ramps are built to handicapped-accessible standards as set by the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) and provide the handicapped with the freedom to enjoy the outdoors. Because the paver bricks are independently installed into one ramp, repairs are much easier than they would be on a concrete poured ramp.

    Adding Pavers to Concrete Steps

    • Brick paver steps

If concrete steps exist, gluing patio paver bricks to the surface will give the steps an elegant look. PL-400 adhesive is used to glue the pavers down to the concrete step. The most important part of the process is to make sure that the step is dry and clean, otherwise the glue will not stick. The step will be ready to use 12 hours after the glue has set. This project can be completed in a few hours.

    Tapered Paver Pathway

    • Creating a pathway to a sliding glass door with paver bricks is a great way to keep the yard from being torn up by constant traffic by directing people down a path. This is especially true of high-traffic areas from the house to a dock or a garden pathway. Use the width of the door to create a tapered effect from the door to the path, where it narrows to 3 feet or 4 feet wide.
