Instructions

    • 1

Measure the area you are going to place the patio extension. Clear the area with the shovels to a depth of of three inches below the base of the original structure.

    • 2

Cut the 2-by4s to measurements of your extension. Use the circular saw. Create the exterior frame to hold the concrete into place. Place the frame where you are making the extension and drive the stakes into the ground on the outside of the frame. Nail the frame to the stake. Nail the corners of the frames together. Place stakes on the outside corners of the frame.

    • 3

Pour the crushed limestone into the frame; spread out and level it with the back of the rack.

    • 4

Pour the cement into the frame and shovel it into the corners. Use the trowel to level out the corners. When all of the cement is poured and the frame is full use the screed which is a large flat blade on a long pole. This is drug across the surface of the cement to level it. Allow the cement to dry and remove the frame.
