How to Raise and Lower a Mower Deck

Cutting your lawn with a mower is a landscaping chore that needs to be done on a regular basis. One of the keys to mowing your grass correctly is cutting it to the correct length. This depends on the type of grass and the time of season. To be able to accomplish this, you will need to adjust the mower's deck. This typically requires no tools, or perhaps a screwdriver. Read your mower's owner's manual to learn exactly how to raise and lower your mower deck.

Press the lever next to each wheel and move it up or down, depending on if you want to cut your lawn shorter or longer. Use your screwdriver to loosen the bolt that secures the height of your mower wheels. Move it down to cut it shorter and move it up to cut it longer.
