How to Balance Lawn Art

Lawn art adds a decorative element and curb appeal to a yard and home, but keeping it balanced allows it to look its best. For example, adding too many ornaments will make a yard look crowded and unattractive. On the other hand, having only one piece of lawn art may look out of place, too. Balance the ornaments with the current landscape to achieve the most attractive look for your home.

Instructions

    • 1

Plan the pieces of lawn art you wish to use, taking into consideration the style of your home and the current landscaping. Pairing a cottage-style home with a modern lawn ornament, for instance, might look out of place, just as a modern home with a wagon wheel decoration would look odd.

    • 2

Select several lawn ornaments and place them in a prime viewing location. Odd numbers of ornaments tend to look better than even numbers, unless the garden area is formal.

    • 3

Choose one style or theme for the lawn art unify the look. Select angled statuary or garden gnomes, for instance, but don't mix the two.

    • 4

Match the color of the lawn ornaments to the colors in your garden.
