Install outdoor wall fixtures on either side of the front door. If light fixtures are already present, but the light they emit are dim, consider replacing them or using new light bulbs to make the area brighter.
Attach post cap lights to the tops of the banister posts if you have steps or a railing along the stoop. These lights attach to the top of the post and are usually solar-powered, so they don't require wiring.
Install outdoor step lights if your stoop includes wooden steps. You may need to hardwire these lights either on your own or with the help of an electrician.
Position outdoor flood lights in nearby landscaping. Aim the flood lights toward the stoop.
Install pathway lights along the sidewalk that leads up to the stoop. This helps guide visitors to the stoop and adds light for safety.
