Pull weeds and grasses by hand that need to be removed from the landscaped area.
Blow leaves, dust and other light debris from the top and in between the pea gravel using a blower. Do not be concerned if you move some of the pea gravel in the process, but try not to blow the pea gravel completely out of the landscaped area.
Rake the gravel to loosen it up and spread it evenly in the landscaped area.
Rinse the gravel using a water hose. If needed, add a new light layer of pea gravel to the top of the existing pea gravel. The gravel will sink into the earth over time and will occasionally require a bit of a refresher to maintain its usefulness as a weed barrier.
