How to Set Up a Bamboo Water Fountain in a Flower Bed

Bamboo water fountains can be a beautiful addition to your garden. You can enjoy the soft, relaxing sound of its running water and the exotic look of this unique addition. Bamboo water fountains can be purchased from a variety of suppliers. Almost all of these models are set up in the same way. The water flows out of the fountain at the bamboo fixture at the top, down into a vessel that collects the water. The water is sucked up by a pump at the bottom and circulated back up to the bamboo fixture.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the vessel and rocks. Remove any dirt and check that the vessel is watertight. If not, you may need to seal the vessel first.

    • 2

Place the pump in the bottom of the vessel. Be sure the power cord on the pump can reach out of the vessel.

    • 3

Cut clear vinyl tubing to a length sufficient to carry water from the pump water outflow up through the rocks and plants up into the bamboo fixture to the spout.

    • 4

Attach the tubing to the pump water outflow.

    • 5

Cover the pump with the rocks and plants, leaving the power cord and plastic tubing poking out through the rocks and plants.

    • 6

Push the tubing into the bamboo fixture so it rests in its spout.

    • 7

Arrange the rocks to support the fixture and hold it in place.

    • 8

Fill with water to the level you desire.

    • 9

Plug the power cord from the pump into an extension cord and plug it into a power source.

    • 10

Place into your garden. You may use a shovel to dig a hole and place the vessel in the hole to set the fountain down into the flower bed.
