Why Should I Consider Raised Garden Beds?

Raised garden beds are a good option for many gardens because these garden beds offer many advantages over traditional ground garden beds. While construction costs more than just hoeing up soil, the raised bed will pay for itself over the years.
  1. Fewer Weeds

    • The raised garden bed is built on top of the ground, and weed barriers can be placed under the bed to prevent weeds from growing up. Also, the soil placed into the bed is completely up to the owner, and weed repellent soil can be used.

    Longer Growing Season

    • Soil in the raised garden bed will warm much faster than the ground soil because the raised bed will have better drainage. This allows for earlier planting and longer growth time.

    Better Reach

    • Raised garden beds can be made as large or small as desired. Beds can be made so that the gardener does not have to bend and reach as far when caring for the plants. Raised beds can also be portable, allowing the gardener to bag up the soil and relocate the bed if needed.
