Pet Monuments for a Garden

Losing a beloved companion pet can lead to feelings of sadness, anger, guilt and depression. To help you or a friend through these emotions, celebrate the pet's life and the joy it brought into yours with a pet monument. Place the monument in your garden to create a space you will feel connected to your pet in. Purchase different types of pet monuments for your garden or customize one yourself.
  1. Grave Markers

    • Mark the grave of a beloved pet in your garden with a custom memorial headstone. Choose from different types of materials including granite, bluestone, bronze or aluminum. You can customize the headstone as much or as little as you like. Some headstones simply contain the pet's name and dates of birth and death. Others have more detailed inscriptions such as a line of poetry or a picture of the type of pet buried. You can purchase a headstone with a small vase to place flowers from your garden into or pick something more simple and plant decorative flowers around it.

    Memorial Garden Stones

    • If you would like to make a monument dedicated to a beloved companion in your garden choose from a variety of special garden stones to honor your pet. Similar to a grave marker you can have a simple, rough stone engraved with your pet's name and a special poem. You can also send in a picture of your pet to an online memorial retailer who will make a permanent copy of it onto a ceramic stone, which you can place in your garden, hang from a tree, or attach to a simple garden stone with your pet's name etched upon it.

    Memorial Statues

    • Purchase a garden statue of the type and breed of pet you have lost and place it in your garden. Surround it with flowers, trees or water features to create a customized memorial space. For cremated pets, order a customized garden pet urn to place the pet's ashes into. Urns come in various sizes and forms, including statues of angels or angels and pets. Some of these memorial statues come with a solar panel for use in your garden so that an inside light glows at night, illuminating the monument to your pet.

    Memorial Benches

    • Add a pet memorial bench to your garden to remember your pet. Benches usually measure 12 to 14 inches high and 29 to 30 inches wide. Place the bench among decorative flowers in your garden or next to a tall tree. Customize the bench with your pet's name, dates of birth and death, a few words about the pet's life and a permanent ceramic picture of your pet. Some of these benches come with poetry or other comforting words already engraved into the bench. To ensure its durability, ask the retailer you purchase the bench from if the customized ceramic picture has special UV protection so it will not fade over time.
