How to Arrange Fake Flowers Outside

Silk fake flowers are often inside the home but they can also liven up your outdoor landscaping by adding color and variety, for less work than live plants in some cases. Outdoor flower arrangements won't last as long outdoors as they would indoors, unless you purchase ones specially made for outdoor arrangements, but they can add beauty to your garden all season long. You can set outdoor flower arrangements in the ground or in containers.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the flowers you want to use for your outdoor fake flower arrangements. Select a variety of heights and colors to make the flowers pop in the landscape.

    • 2

Place five to eight rocks in the bottom of the container to keep it from blowing away. Place a block of foam into the container.

    • 3

Place the tallest flowers in the center of the container. Add some foliage around the tallest flowers in the container to give it some fullness. Place smaller flowers or hanging flowers around the outer rim of the container for added interest.

    • 4

Push the fake flowers into the ground in the areas you want to set the flowers, if you want them in the dirt. Arrange foliage around the base of the flowers to hide the plastic stems and space each set of flowers apart by 4 to 6 inches so they look like real flowers.
