Install a trellis 6 feet high on either side of the raspberry vines. Plant the sweet peas in front of the trellis. As the vines grow, train them up the trellis to act as floral bookends to the raspberries and brighten the area.
Install a trellis system 3 feet behind the raspberry vines if no fence exists there. Plant sweet peas between the raspberry vines and the trellis (or fence) to form a colorful backdrop to the berries.
Plant sweet pea vines on either side of the raspberries without a trellis if you want to allow them to sprawl as ground cover around your raspberry vines. Check the plants regularly and make adjustments as needed to keep the sweet peas from growing between the raspberry canes.
Plant the sweet peas in large, 18-inch planters for any of steps 1 through 3 to make managing your raspberry vines simpler. Place the containers around the vines as desired and move the planter when necessary or convenient for harvesting berries.
Water the two kinds of plants weekly when rainfall has been insufficient. Avoid letting the sweet peas and raspberries compete with each another for water.
