How to Build a Wildlife Fence

Home owners, gardeners and farmers will often attest to the determination and destructive ability of wildlife. Wildlife view tender vegetation, fruits and vegetables as an easy means to a meal. Put on gloves to protect your hands while installing the wildlife fence. Look over the area and determine the path that the fence will follow.

    • 2

Place a T-post in a corner or end position as a starting point. Drive the post at least 1- foot into the ground with a T-post driver. Keep the post vertically straight when driving.

    • 3

Drive another post into the ground at the next corner or end of the fence row. Use the T-post driver to install the post. Keep the post straight while driving it into the ground.

    • 4

Tie a string from one post and pull it to the other as an installation guide. Install additional posts along the line spaced every 8 feet apart.

    • 5

Lay a roll of plastic mesh wildlife fence on the ground beside the first post. Raise the end of the fence up to the post. Secure the plastic mesh to the fence post with plastic zip ties.

Roll the fence along the installed posts. Raise the plastic mesh and attach it to each post along the fence line with plastic zip ties. Continue to the installation to the end of the fence line or corner. Cut excess fence with a sharp knife.
