Mark the boundary lines on your property with stakes.
Squirt a spray of orange fluorescent paint on one end of many yard stakes. Let the stakes dry. These indicate where the actual galvanized fencing goes on the landscape.
Position stakes with the orange markings or flags 4 inches toward the inside of your land. Do this all along the perimeter of your property where you want the fencing. This prevents you from installing the galvanized fencing and any posts on adjacent properties.
Ask someone to hold the end of the measuring tape as you stretch it from one orange-marked stake or flag to the next. Write down the measurements and add them up to determine the amount of galvanized fencing your property requires.
