How to Install 6x6 White Vinyl Tongue & Groove Fencing

Tongue and groove vinyl fencing is made of vinyl panels and posts. The panels and posts fit together, hence the tongues or grooves on the ends of each piece. The panels come in a variety of sizes, such as 6 feet by 6 feet. In order to properly install the fence, you have to brace the posts in holes with quick mix cement so they won’t fall down in a windstorm.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the metal posts to mark off where each vinyl posts will go. Place them 6 feet apart. Use the string to tie each metal post together to mark the vinyl panels.

    • 2

Dig holes for the vinyl posts where you placed the metal posts. Dig a hole at least 30 inches deep and 10 to 12 inches wide with the post spade.

    • 3

Pour half of one 80-pound bag of quick mix cement into the hole and add half a gallon of water to it. The cement will mix when you add the water. Place the vinyl post into the hole when the cement is thick enough to hold it up right. Pour the rest of the cement and water into the hole and allow it to dry.

Fit the vinyl panel’s tongue into the groove on the post and snap it in place. Repeat steps two through four until the entire fence is built.
