Instructions

    • 1

Use a handsaw to cut the 2-inch diameter sticks into caps for the fence measuring 3 inches long. The caps will be placed on top of the fence stakes to complete the look and make it seem more natural.

    • 2

Attach a 1/2-inch drill bit to your drill. Drill a hole about halfway through the center of each cap piece. Twist the caps onto the top of each of the rebar stakes.

    • 3

Select the area where you want to install the short fence. Pound each stake 6 inches into the ground and spaced 1 1/2-feet apart. Space the stakes 1-foot apart on corners and around curves.

    • 4

Cut flexible willow branches or green saplings measuring about 3 inches in diameter and at least 4-feet long using loppers.

    • 5

Weave the branches into the fence. Tie the first branch to the bottom of the first stake using garden twine. Bend the branch behind the second then in front of the third. Continue weaving in this pattern. When you reach the end of the branch, tie it to the stake it touches. Repeat until the entire first row of the fence is complete.

    • 6

Weave the opposite way to make a second row of branches. Tie a branch to the first stake directly above the first row. Bend the branch carefully across the front of the second stake and behind the third. Continue this process to finish the second row.

    • 7

Continue weaving rows of the fence until you reach the tops of the fence. Use the loppers to cut any protruding ends.
