Weber Grill FAQ

Weber is a brand of grills sold by the Weber-Stephen Products LLC, headquartered in Palatine, Illinois. Weber specializes in charcoal and gas grills and smokers. The company offers both large and portable camping grills. These are all consumer outdoor grills. Never operate an outdoor-only grill indoors, especially gas grills. All Weber grills come with warranties, ranging from 2 to 25 years, depending on the model.
  1. How Do I Light My Grill?

    • If you can't get your gas grill to start, ensure that your igniter is clicking. If not, it is not correctly aligned. Review your owner's manual to properly align the grill. If you are operating the grill in rainy or humid weather, use a match, as opposed to an igniter, to start your grill. Use only dry charcoals in a charcoal grill, or use Weber light cubes. Use Chimney Starter or a similar charcoal starter product to make it easier to light the charcoals. Before cooking, let your charcoals burn for about 25 to 30 minutes or until they are a gray color.

How Do I Maintain My Grill?

    • Always wash your griddles or grates before using your grill. Only use warm soapy water, and dry after washing. Do not wash your grill parts in the dishwasher, and do not let them air dry. Season the grates with oil to keep them from rusting. Always clean off the grill and grates after each use. Use a grill brush to remove any lingering food or burnt-on items. Your grill normally will have flecking in the finish.

How Do I Troubleshoot My Grill?

    • You may hear some noise while you are operating your grill. If you hear a fluttering noise, try pushing in the slide-out bottom tray, and ensure that the grill lid is closed. If you smell gas, immediately turn off the grill, and disconnect the propane tank from the grill. You may have a leak. Call either your propane supplier or the local fire department. If your charcoal fire won't stay on, check that you have enough airflow. Open the grill's bottom and top vents. Only close them when you are finished grilling.

Where Can I Buy Weber Grills?

    • You can purchase Weber grills from authorized dealers. You can search for a dealer on the company's website. Input your zip code, and select the product for which you are searching. The website provides you with a list of nearby dealers based on your preferences. You can order a replacement manual directly from Weber's customer service.
