Genuine Wolmanized Residential Outdoor Wood is treated with copper azole preservative and intended for applications where the wood will be either above ground level or in contact with the ground. Wolmanized L3 Outdoor Wood uses a metal-free preservative that makes it suitable for out-of-ground applications only. Both woods are designed for residential applications and treated with built-in water repellents to combat water absorption and wood rot.
Wolmanized wood is produced in a pressurized cylinder using a closed system. Excess preservative is recycled and no pollutants or waste water is released into the environment. After wood is placed in the cylinder, the door is sealed and all the air is removed using a vacuum system. Preservative is then pumped into the cylinder and the internal pressure is raised to approximately 150 pounds per square inch to force the preservative into the cells of the wood. After removal, the wood is air dried.
Wolmanized wood is made from trees that mature relatively quickly in the managed forests where they are grown. This building material requires less energy to produce than plastics, and is a renewable resource that is not petroleum-based. The preservative applied to Wolmanized wood makes the structures built with it attractive and long-lasting. Wolmanized wood scraps are not classified as hazardous waste and may be safely disposed of in your local landfill site. The wood should be burned in approved incinerators only.
Wolmanized wood carries a lifetime limited warranty against fungus and termites. The wood may be painted or stained and coated with extra water repellent -- as warranted by the wood type used and the sun exposure and average rainfall to which the wood will be exposed. The wood should be allowed to dry thoroughly before paint is applied. Six months resting time after building is recommended. End-cut solution should be applied to exposed wood during the building process.
