How to Adjust the Valves on an Ariens Sno-Thro

When you are using an Ariens Sno-Thro brand snowblower to clear your driveway and sidewalks you may encounter specific problems that acquire troubleshooting. For example, if the machine does not start or crank then there could be several reasons. You must always make sure the fuel tank is full, and if the tank is full then you should check the shut-off valve for the fuel tank to make sure it is fully closed. Adjusting this specific valve correctly is very important when using the Ariens Sno-Thro and you must make sure it always securely closed or open.

      Place the Ariens Sno-Thro unit in a well-ventilated area, and then make sure the engine is turned off.

      Turn the full shut-off valve to the open position, if it isn't already. The plastic bar on the valve should appear vertical.

      Remove the gas cap and make sure the gas is filled all the way to the line, so that it is full.

      Place the cap back onto the gas tank and then tighten it by turning it clockwise. If you want to use your snow blower right away then leave the shut-off valve in the position it is in.

      Turn the shut-off valve to the closed position if you want to store the unit and you're done using it for the moment. The plastic bar on the valve should appear horizontal.
