How to Decorate a Narrow Deck

Place size-appropriate chairs and a table on your narrow deck. Large furniture overwhelms the space, leaving little room to maneuver. A tall table, small in circumference, with tall chairs allows for outdoor seating without crowding the deck.

Hang wood crafts or a wall fountain on an outside wall next to the deck. Place adhesive hooks that can be removed without damage on your siding or brick. Hang decorative craft pieces or old antique metal signs on the wall. A small bubble fountain hooked to the wall provides relaxing noise.

Position a trellis at one end of the narrow deck. Add greenery or flowers to the trellis such as ivy or roses. The trellis provides an interesting and elegant focal point to the space.

String colored or all white lights around the deck. Decorative lighting allows you enough light to see, while giving you a magical atmosphere during the evening hours.

Hang flower baskets from a roof-covered deck. The hanging baskets provide dots of color in a small area.
