How to Clean a Wooden Deck Without Harming Plants

Wooden decks require yearly maintenance to remove and prevent dirt buildup, mold and mildew growth from exposure to the elements. Some cleaning products such as chlorine bleach and tri-sodium phosphate can harm plants or vegetation surrounding the deck if they aren't properly covered or protected. Oxygen bleach is a non-toxic product that dissolves dirt and mold without harming plants or flowers, and it won't change or fade the color of your deck wood.
