Assembly Instructions for a Propane Outdoor Patio Heater

Enjoy your patio all year-round with an outdoor propane patio heater. Most models bring the temperature to your outdoor space up by about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Assembly primarily consists of positioning the base, cylinder covers, header, post and tank. Most pieces are connected with a series of screws. Once the heater is assembled and the propane tank is installed, the heater is ready to make your patio warmer for late fall or early spring entertaining.

Instructions

    • 1

Assemble the base. The base pieces consist of either just a bottom base or a bottom base connected to legs. If the base has legs, position them upright on the base so the screw holes meet between the base and legs. Place the screws into the pre-drilled holes and tighten.

    • 2

Place the cylinder covers upright on the base so they meet. Most patio heaters have two covers. Position the screws -- usually included when you purchase the heater -- into the holes and tighten them to secure the covers together. The screw holes are usually located along the sides of the covers at the top, middle and bottom.

    • 3

Place the post base on top of the cylinder cover.

    • 4

Position the screws in the cylinder cover's pre-drilled holes to connect the post base to the cover.

    • 5

Hold the post upright. Position it over the post base. Insert the screws into the pre-drilled holes to connect the post base and post together. Tighten the screws.

    • 6

Slide the post base cover over the top of the post. Slide it down until it covers the post base.

    • 7

Lift the head assembly. Insert the bottom of the hose from the assembly into the top of the post. Keeping pushing the hose into the post until all of the hose is in the post.

    • 8

Set the head assembly on top of the post, aligning the screw holes on the head with the screw holes on the post. Insert the screws into the holes. Tighten the screws.

    • 9

Set a standard 20-pound propane tank by the heater's base. Open the cylinder door. Connect the tank to the heater's hose and regulator, following the instructions provided with the tank.

    • 10

Place the tank on the base inside of the heater. Close the cylinder door.
