Use a pressure washer to clean the deck before restoring it. Wear gloves, goggles, and earplugs for safety. Hold the nozzle about two feet away from the deck and turn on the machine. Clean the entire surface of the deck. Allow the deck to dry completely.
Sand the deck with a medium-grit sandpaper to roughen the primer on the deck and remove splinters.
Dip a roller in the deck resurfacer product and apply it evenly on all surfaces. The manufacturer of the resurfacer may provide specific instructions on applying the product to a certain thickness. If not, simply distribute the product evenly.
Wait for the deck resurfacer product to dry completely.
Apply a second coat of resurfacer in the same manner as the first. The second coat will help fill in any gaps in the first coat to create a smooth finish.
Allow the deck to cure for the length of time recommended by the manufacturer. Avoid walking on it during this time.
