Remove all the items on the deck, such as patio furniture and potted plants.
Spray the porch with a hose to remove dirt, leaves and other debris.
Inspect the porch and locate any loose or raised nails. Remove and replace loose nails, and hammer in raised nails that do not need to be replaced. If any board is damaged, pull all the nails out of the board, measure a new piece of wood, cut it to size with a saw and install the new board. If you are not comfortable with replacing the wood pieces yourself, contact Miracle Method, and it should be able to replace the panels for you.
Fill a garden sprayer with a deck wash and brightener solution. Read the label on the solution and follow the instructions accordingly. Spray the porch with the solution, scrub over it with a brush and allow it to soak for the specified amount of time.
Spray the deck with a pressure washer to remove the deck wash and brightener solution. Move the pressure washer nozzle in the direction of the wood grain as you spray to prevent splinters from forming in the wood.
Fill a garden sprayer with a wood sealer. Read the label on the wood sealer and follow the instructions accordingly. Some sealers contain a stain that will allow you to seal and stain your deck at the same time, if you choose to stain your deck.
Spray the deck with the wood sealer and allow it to dry according to the specified amount of time. Do not walk on the deck until the sealer has had time to dry.
Wait at least 24 hours before you replace the items on your deck.
