Decide on a location on your patio to install your barbecue. The area should be level and be in a good spot for cooking. Place the long table on the selected location. The table will be the base for the barbecue.
Place four patio pavers on top of the table and arrange them in a line. Space the pavers evenly across the table. The pavers will provide a heat barrier between the barbecue and the wood table.
Select four galvanized buckets to make the barbecue. The buckets need to all be the same size.
Measure and find a location 2 inches from the bottom side of one bucket. Mark the location with a black marker. Find and mark a second location 3 inches from the first. Continue making a mark at 3-inch intervals all around the bottom side of the bucket. Repeat this process on each bucket. These are marking the locations where you will make holes in the buckets.
Place the first bucket on its side. Place the point of a nail on the first mark. Pound the nail all the way through the side of the bucket using a hammer. The hole you made is a ventilation hole for the barbecue. Repeat on each mark of each bucket.
Place a bucket in the center of each of the patio pavers on top of the table. Measure the circumference of the rim of the buckets. Draw a circle slightly larger than the rim of the bucket on a piece of cardboard. Cut the cardboard circle out.
Place the cardboard circle on the metal grate and trace around it with a marker. Cut the circle out of the metal grate using tin snips. Cut four circles out of the grate. Place each circular grate on top of the buckets. These grates are your cooking surfaces.
Screw four cup hooks into the front of the table directly below each bucket. These hooks give you a place to hang your barbecue tools.
To use grill take the grates off the buckets and put a small amount of charcoal in each one. Light the charcoal and place the grates back on top.
