How to Get Rid of Stains on Burberry

Burberry is a brand of clothing manufactured in the United Kingdom. While Burberry was originally known for raincoats for men and women, today the company offers merchandise such as shoes, handbags, clothes and housewares. Getting a stain out of a Burberry fabric requires the same cleaning methods for any accessory or item of clothing. First, though, know what material you're dealing with. And it's always important to read the care label in the stained item. However, standard methods of care for removing stains exist.

Instructions

    • 1

Brush dried stains with a dry paper towel to remove as much of the stain as possible.

    • 2

Wet a paper towel or cloth with cold water and wipe the stain. This dilutes the stain and softens any dried stains.

    • 3

Choose an appropriate cleaning solution for the stain. Knowing the fabric of the Burberry item is also important in deciding how to clean a stain. Rubbing alcohol is good for oil-based stains. Dish-washing liquid is useful for many types of stains. Club soda gets rid of red-wine stains

Test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the Burberry item. Dip a paper towel into the cleaning solution and wipe it on the test area to see if the item changes color or has another adverse reaction. If there is no reaction or change, use the cleaning solution on the actual stain in the same manner.

    • 5

Wet a paper towel to rinse out the cleaning solution. Blot dry with a paper towel.

    • 6

      Let Burberry items dry naturally.
