Instructions

  1. Wet Nail Polish Stain

    • 1

Blot a wet fingernail polish stain with absorbent tissues to remove as much of the polish as possible.

    • 2

Test the nail polish remover on an inconspicuous spot on the underside of the bedspread.

    • 3

Blot the stain with the polish remover while being careful to avoid spreading the stain.

    • 4

Rinse the stained area from the back of the bedspread under a steady stream of running water.

    • 5

Wash and dry the bedspread as usual.

    Dry Nail Polish Stain

    • 6

Use the dull side of a butter knife to scrape away as much polish as possible.

    • 7

Test the fingernail polish remover on an inconspicuous spot on the underside of the bedspread so it does not stain, remove the color or discolor the fabric.

    • 8

Turn the bedspread over to work on the stain from the back. Lay the stain on absorbent towels to capture the fingernail polish as it dissolves. This prevents further staining.

    • 9

Target the stain liberally by using an eyedropper to apply nail polish remover directly to the stain.

    • 10

Rinse the stain from the back under a strong stream of running water.

    • 11

Wash and dry the bedspread as usual.
