How to Get Dried Hair Spray Off of a Toilet Seat

Toilet seats may be made of wood, plastic or other material. Removing hairs pray from toilet seats is generally the same as removing it from other similar surfaces. Choose a cleanser that breaks down hair spray without damaging the finish of the toilet seat. You can make a homemade cleanser from readily available household ingredients that cost less and often work just as well as commercial products.

  • Heavy-duty liquid detergent
  • Scrubbing pad
  • Sponge
  • Container
  • Liquid soap
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar

Instructions

  1. Conventional Cleanser

    • 1

      Drizzle heavy-duty liquid detergent around the top of the toilet seat.

      Rub in the detergent on the toilet seat with a non-abrasive scrubbing pad. Allow it to sit for approximately 30 minutes, then scrub the toilet seat with the pad.

      Wipe the toilet seat free of soap and hair spray residue with warm water and a clean sponge.

    Natural Cleanser

      Mix 2 2/3 cups of warm water, ¼ cup of liquid soap, ¼ cup of baking soda and 2 tbsp. of white vinegar in a container.

      Scrub the toilet seat with the solution and the scrubbing pad.

      Use a clean sponge and warm water to remove the solution from the toilet lid.
