How to Get Super Glue Out of a Suede Couch

Super Glue is effective when you need to bond two surfaces together quickly. The problem with the liquid glue is that it also bonds quickly when spilled on unintended surfaces. Fortunately, a Super Glue stain on your suede sofa doesn't have to be the end of the world. Although it's not the easiest stain to remove, you can successfully remove the glue from your suede upholstery without harming the material. Use methods and supplies that are safe for suede and effective on Super Glue stains to achieve complete removal of the stain.

Things You'll Need

• Emery board
• Hand vacuum
• Eye dropper
• Acetone-based nail polish remover
• Cleaning cloths
• Dry cleaning solvent
• Suede brush

     Allow the Super Glue to harden on the suede. Wear the hardened glue down by filing it with an emery board. Wear down the glue until you reach bare suede.

     Remove dust resulting from filing down the hardened Super Glue with a hand vacuum.

     Fill an eye dropper with acetone-based nail polish remover. Drop the liquid onto any remaining Super Glue stains. Allow it to soak into the glue for two to three minutes.

     Blot the moistened Super Glue stains with a clean cloth to lift the glue. Apply more nail polish remover as needed until the glue residue is lifted.

     Moisten a cloth with dry cleaning solvent. Blot the suede to clean the surface and remove the nail polish remover. Dry the surface by pressing a dry cloth into the suede. Allow the couch to air dry a minimum of five hours to overnight.

     Brush the suede with a suede brush to blend the nap.
