How to Get Raspberry Stains Out of Carpet

Raspberry juice or raspberry pulp stains on a light-colored carpet is an intimidating sight. The quicker the homeowner reacts to the mess, the more successful he will be in removing the stain. It is essential to respond with the correct treatment because the wrong cleanser sets the stains more deeply into the carpet. Raspberry stains are classified as tannin stains and are water-based. They are removed by taking fast action with everyday household cleansers, exercising some patience, and making a little bit of effort.

  • Large spoon
  • Liquid dishwashing detergent
  • Hot water
  • White cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Paper towels
  • Vacuum cleaner

Instructions

      Remove raspberry pulp from the carpet by scraping it with the edge of a large spoon, gathering it and disposing of it.

      Mix a solution of 1 tbsp. liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups hot water.

      Dip a clean white cloth into the solution and sponge the raspberry stain working from the outside edge until the stain no longer shows on the cloth.

      Continue sponging the stain while changing the cloth to a clean area until the raspberry stain no longer shows on the cloth.

      Sponge stubborn stains with a mixture of ¼ cup white distilled vinegar mixed with ¼ cup warm water and a clean white cloth.

      Press paper towels onto the stained area to blot up as much liquid as possible and comb out the carpet knap. Vacuum the carpet thoroughly when it is dry.
