Removing Water Spots From Cloth Chairs

You might not think of water as a staining agent, but if excess water sits on fabric over a period of time, water spots are likely to form. An example would include a glass of water that spills onto a cloth chair and isn't dried up immediately, leaving behind a water stain. If you have cloth chairs with water spots, you can usually get rid of these unsightly blemishes through a simple cleaning and drying process.

Instructions

    • 1

Dampen a clean, white cloth with water. Wring out the cloth and use it to remoisten the stained area.

    • 2

Fold three or four paper towels in half and place them in a stack on top of the stain.

    • 3

Place a heavy object, such as a large book, on top of the paper towels.

    • 4

Aim a hair dryer at the stain and blow the area dry for about 5 minutes, using the cool setting of your dryer. Although the air won't be hitting the stain directly, it will cause the fabric to begin to dry. This, in turn, will cause the water to transfer to the paper towels.
