Lay several paper towels over the spilled oil if the spill is medium to small in size. The paper towels will soak up a good amount of the oil. Discard the soiled paper towels in the trash.
Sprinkle kitty litter over the remaining oil. Let it sit for two to three hours. This gives the litter time to absorb the oil that has seeped down into the pavers' porous surfaces.
Sweep up the kitty litter and toss it into the trash. Hose off the driveway pavers and inspect them to see if any oil stains remain.
Pour concentrated laundry detergent over the oil stain and scrub it down into the pores with a scrub brush. Wait five minutes before rinsing the area clean.
Cover any stubborn oil stains that still remain on the driveway pavers with tri-sodium phosphate. TSP must be mixed with hot water at a rate of 1 cup per gallon of water. Use this chemical as a last resort. Let the tri-sodium phosphate solution sit on the oil stain for 20 minutes. Scrub it with a scrub brush then rinse it off for several minutes.
